What can I say about my banned books week display? It’s a fairly standard banned book display. I created the line-up style photo-op that is seen so often on Pinterest. It turned out great, though I’m not sure how many teens actually decided to have their photo taken there. I just used the ALA’s promotional materials to decorate the rest of the space, and displayed a whole bunch of challenged books. I created a bookmark to put in every challenged or banned book I could find on our shelves that marked it as a challenged book, and provided information about what you can do to fight censorship. I also made buttons using this year’s logo and layed them out for people to take. To include some passive programming in the display, I put out banned books week coloring sheets, as well as madlibs featuring challenged books.
