October is Dyslexia Awareness Month, and we had a patron request that we put up a display for it. Even though I’m obsessed with Halloween, and normally would have all my October displays be spooky stories, costumes, etc., I loved this idea. I chose to dedicate my large slat wall to the display for the entire month of October. Here is what I did:
In honor of our summer reading program I came up with a very cool display for my slat wall this summer. It was based around our program, in that our patrons’ reading would fuel a library rocket to various space locations. So my display featured some general space books, and stories of the universe, but I also left space to feature our destination. This section had books about the moon, or planet that we were headed towards.
In 2019 so far, I have created a few fun displays of note. We have a large slat wall as you enter the children’s room where I put books on display. Continue reading
I have been seeing a lot of “describe the movie plot in one sentence,” and they are both funny and enjoyable, so I decided to translate this into a teen display. Instead of one line summaries of movies, I came up with one line summaries of YA books.
We know that it’s time to change out our main display when the only books left on it have been there for several weeks and still aren’t getting picked. Continue reading
