Rather than doing a Halloween storytime this week, I chose to do monster stories. This still makes it feel festive, but also slightly narrows down the book options (emphasis on slightly, because there were still too many to choose from). I also brought in a stuffed monster from home (his name is Oog) to help me out with the songs and rhymes for this week. When the kids first came into the room they were like “HAHA! That guy looks funny.”
